Road Warriors cruise to Title, 6-2.
The first place Road Warriors went 9-3 on
the season and 3-0 in the playoffs, cruising to a lobsided 6-2 win
in the Coffee Cup game.
An uncovered Phatt Deskin opened the scoring in the first, and green was off and running. Before the period ended, Melito and Silk each scored and green was up 3-0.
In the 2nd Kevin Flanagan finally got the stagnant navy team on the board. But a 2nd goal by Deskin would make it 4-1 headed into the third.
As you can see in the videos, nothing was going right for the navy team. Without Morin and Lloyd, there was no defense, though no penalties either.
In the third green goalie Justin Fortni made a big save, that would lead to an unassisted goal by Eric Grasso at the other end. Instead of a 4-2 game, it was now 5-1. That two goal swing would be the nail in the coffin.
Melto scored again to make it 6-1, and that was that. Although Todd Nichol scored with 1 second left while the green team was celebrating the win, and had a super celly, for the 6-2 final.
